Dear Riverside Substitute Teacher,

You have been left behind by the Riverside Unified School District !

• Riverside Substitute teachers have only received ONE $10 PER DAY PAY INCREASE IN THE PAST 15 YEARS.

• Riverside Substitute salaries have increased by 12.5% in the last 15 years while other Riverside School District employees have increased by 50 percent in the last 15 years.

• Riverside Substitute teachers DO NOT HAVE DUE PROCESS that all other Riverside employees have.

• Riverside Substitute teachers DO NOT HAVE MEDICAL BENEFITS that other Riverside employees have.

• Riverside Substitutes DO NOT GET COLA RAISES.

We want to represent you in the 2005 – 2006 school year.  CWA wants to negotiate better wages and other benefits for you!  Substitute teachers have the right, by California Law, to be represented before the Riverside Unified School District .

It is important for you to return the enclosed “Representation Authorization” card now.  Please note that your card will be held in complete confidence.
